Don’t worry about losing Indian fans over Kashmir issue: Yasir Hussain

LAHORE- Actor Yasir Hussain is disappointed Pakistani celebrities who choose to stay silent about the chaotic situation in Indian occupied Kashmir because they fear losing Indian fan base.

The Lahore Se Aagey actor posted a video on Instagram, emphasizing on the humanitarian crisis in the state of Kashmir.

“Sami Khan and I have worked in an Indian film starring Om Puri which was a joint venture between both the countries. No doubt our stay there was good and whenever we interacted with the people there, they used to ask us that have you met Fawad Khan which gave us enough proof that there is a huge fan following of Pakistani artists in India,” he said.

In the video, Yasir called out Bollywood for banning Pakistani artists whenever they feel like, “Despite such a great fan following, they kicked Pakistani celebrities out whenever they want to. They removed Atif Aslam’s songs from their websites, even though no one in South Asia has a soulful voice as him.”

“I myself belong to Azad Kashmir. Since childhood, I have been hearing about unabated brutalities in occupied Jammu & Kashmir which is not far away from my village in Azad Kashmir,”

“I do not think artists should even think about their Indian fan base at this crucial moment because they belong to Pakistan and became famous here first. It was their work in Pakistan that led to projects in India,” the Naach Na Janey actor added.

“So, losing your fan base does not really matter. What matters is that Kashmiri brothers and sisters should not be killed. That is the most important thing at the moment,” said Yasir.

The actor concluded the video saying that he will continue to highlight the Kashmir Issue till his last breath!
