Govt introduces low cost mineral water at Rs1 per litre

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government has introduced its mineral water to slash the expenses at government offices.

Science and Technology Minister, Fawad Chaudhry announced on Saturday that the water launched by his ministry would initially be made available at PM office, President House and Parliament House.

The Pakistan Council of Research and Water Resources (PCRWR) has prepared a 500ml water bottle named ‘Safe Drinking Water’, the minister said in a statement.

Talking to Express Tribune, the minister said the water bottle costs R1 per litre and it is a quality drinking water.

The minister said in the first phase, it will be introduced at government offices after which it will be made available for masses.

Chaudhry elaborated that Pakistan Council of Research and Water Resources has collected water samples from around the country for the survey adding that the ratio of salts in the water was examined in the survey.

The minister shared that according to the ratio of salts in water samples collected from different areas, water plants would be established in these areas with the help of private companies.

He affirmed that these plants would be established with easy installments loans to people so that cheap and safe drinking water is available throughout the country.

In a tweet, the minister shared that the plants would be established at the village level as well.
