Internet services completely restored across Pakistan: PTA

ISLAMABAD – Internet services in the country have been completely restored, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the authority said that internet services have been completely restored in the country after a fault was reported in an international submarine cable.

According to reports, Internet service across the country were disrupted on Tuesday due to a fault developed in two international submarine cables SMW4 and IMEWE yesterday.

According to PTA spokesperson, the authority has asked PTCL to provide a report after an investigation to determine reasons and loss.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has also announced the restoration of internet traffic on Twitter.

“We are pleased to inform you that the SMW-4 submarine cable fault has been rectified and internet services have been restored” it said.

“We regret any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience” PTCL added.
