ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Minister for Food Security Sikandar Hayat Bosan has said that the government is striving to make agricultural sector more competitive and profitable for food security.
He was addressing the inaugural session of two-day conference on Agricultural Innovations for Improved Productivity and Economic Growth”, in Islamabad on Monday.
The Minister underlined the need for more investment in agriculture research and development to enhance agriculture yield.
He said the application of emerging global technologies is imperative to promote the farming sector of the country and stressed for coordinated efforts between Public and Private Sector with the support of farming community in this regard.
Mission Director USAID Pakistan, John Groarke said the United States and Pakistan have been in collaboration for the development of agriculture sector over the past 50 years.
