US reaffirms support to Pakistan in war on terror

WASHINGTON (Online) – The United States has reaffirmed support to Pakistan in the war on terror.

This has been stated in a resolution presented before the US House of Representatives ahead of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Washington.

The resolution welcomed the official visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the US.

The resolution highlights the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the war on terror and the National Action Plan (NAP) launched by the present Pakistani government against terrorists.

It emphasised the need for strong cooperation between Pakistan and the United States in different fields. There are tremendous opportunities to enhance people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and the United States through trade, education and development.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani said the resolution has been made part of the US congress record.

The resolution introduced by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has been sent to the House’s Foreign Affairs Committee.
