ISLAMABAD (APP) – Australia’s legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne believes that Pakistan’s Yasir Shah is currently world’s best leg spinner and stated that he had always been his fan since the time he saw him.
Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah has been working with Shane Warne before the third Test against England.
Warne, who took 195 of his 708 Test wickets against England, joined Yasir in Sharjah, where the third Test starts on Sunday.
“He is probably the best leg-spinner in the world. Hopefully he starts ripping it and getting wickets and that will be great,” Warne was quoted as saying by BBC.
After missing the first Test through injury, Yasir took match figures of 8-180 in the second Test as Pakistan won by 178 runs. That took his tally in Test cricket to 69 wickets in only 11 matches.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to work with Yasir,” added Warne. “We just worked on who he has been having troubles with in the England side, some tactics and plans.”
“He wants a bit more drift and bounce and little things that can help. I hope by the end of the series he will be bowling beautifully with a huge smile on his face.”
Warne also said he would like to work with England leg-spinner Adil Rashid, but understood that it could be a conflict of interests. “I am not sure if I will be joining the England team,” he said.
“Because of my work with Pakistan, if they don’t want to then that’s fine but I am happy to work with Rashid. No problem at all.”
