Sharjeel Khan likely to join World T20 squad after 117 runs off 62 balls innings

LAHORE (Staff Report) – The left-handed batsman Sharjeel Khan, who is representing Islamabad United in Pakistan Super League (PSL), is expected to be included in Pakistani squad for forthcoming World T20.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had previously announced a 15-member squad for the mega event, however the board can make changes in squad before March 8.

According to cricket experts, the PCB is likely to replace opener Khurram Manzoor with Sharjeel Khan after the latter’s tremendous innings of 117 runs at Pakistan Super League (PSL). Observers say that Manzoor’s was a surprise and the cricket board received criticism over his inclusion in T20 squad.

Following the recent performance of Sharjeel Khan, the pressure for his induction in T20 squad will also mount and the board is expected to summon him for World T20 event in India.

Sharjeel Khan had hammered 117 runs off just 62 balls in the knockout playoff against Peshawar Zalmi. He smashed 8 sixes and 12 fours to build the score. He was declared Man of the Match for his matchless performance.
