US President Joe Biden has stated that the United States is ready to assist Israel in defending itself from Iranian missile attacks and to safeguard American forces in the region.
“We discussed how the United States is prepared to help Israel defend against these attacks and protect American personnel in the region,” Biden wrote on X, referring to a meeting earlier in the day with Vice President Kamala Harris and the White House national security team.
Earlier, Israeli media claimed that Iran fired 400 ballistic missiles at Israel, resulting in war sirens being sounded in Tel Aviv and other areas.
A senior White House official had claimed that Iran was preparing to launch a ballistic missile attack on Israel imminently, warning that such an attack would have serious consequences for Iran.
According to foreign media, the White House official said that the US has received indications that Iran is preparing for a ballistic missile attack against Israel.
