LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday dismissed the plea filed by Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi against his detention under MPO.
Lakhvi, who is blamed by India to conspire Mumbai attacks in 2008, has requested the court to declared his confinement void as Islamabad High Court (IHC) had ordered to set him free.
“The orders of my detention are contempt of court”, he stated to the court.
Punjab Home Department had ordered his confinement a day after the detention orders of the Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi were declared void by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on March 13.
The court had ordered that the petitioner be released immediately if he was not required in any other case.
The court orders sparked the exchange of harsh words between India and Pakistan at diplomatic level.
