PTI may rejoin assemblies

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The spokesperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan on Friday said the party will take final final decision about rejoining Parliament on March 22.

Sarfraz Cheema, in a statement issued to media, congratulated the party workers on the agreement with the government over a probe into rigging allegations. The party’s central executive committee will now consider joining the legislative assemblies once again as per the announcement of Imran Khan, he added.

Imran Khan meanwhile expressed solidarity with participants of the 126 days long sit-in, and said he can see victory in the form of judicial commission. He said that after 1970, all the general elections conducted in the country were rigged. It is the first time an investigation was being carried into the rigging in the general elections.

He said those involved in rigging in the elections would be brought to justice, terming the formation of the judicial commission a victory of the people of Pakistan and democracy.

Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the PML-Nawaz-led government reached a consensus over a four-point agreement  for a probe by a judicial commission into the alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.

The four-point agreement the two sides reached an agreement on calls for the judicial commission to determine whether or not the 2013 general elections were fair, impartial, transparent and were conducted in accordance with the Constitution; to ascertain if the polls were rigged systematically; and to find out whether or not the elections truly reflects the mandate of the people of Pakistan.
