LAHORE – Lahore Qalandars have emerged victorious in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 by defeating Quetta Gladiators in the final.
In the final held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Quetta Gladiators’ captain won the toss and opted to bat first. They posted 201 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs.
Hassan Nawaz stood out for the Gladiators with a brilliant knock of 76 runs off 43 balls, hitting 4 sixes and 8 fours.
Lahore Qalandars chased down the 202-run target on the fifth ball of the final over, losing just four wickets to claim the title.
Quetta Gladiators’ Innings:
Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen opened for Quetta, but Saud was dismissed for just 4 runs by Shaheen Afridi at 17. Salman Mirza then removed Allen for 12.
Rilee Rossouw scored 22 before being caught off Sikandar Raza, with the total at 58. Avishka Fernando added 29 runs but was dismissed by Shaheen at 125.
Hasan Nawaz kept the scoreboard ticking and completed his fifty off 27 balls. He was dismissed for 76 in the 18th over by Shaheen with the total at 172.
Mohammad Amir and Abrar Ahmed fell for ducks at 177, both taken by Haris Rauf. Faheem Ashraf was the last to fall on the final ball, with the total at 201.
For Lahore, Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets, while Salman Mirza and Haris Rauf claimed 2 each. Sikandar Raza and Rashid Hussain took one apiece.
Lahore Qalandars’ Innings:
Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Naeem cautiously started the chase. Abrar Ahmed trapped Fakhar LBW for 11 at 39.
Faheem Ashraf dismissed Naeem for 47, who had hit six sixes and a four. Usama Tariq removed Abdullah Shafique for 41, and Mohammad Amir got rid of Rajapaksa.
Till the 18th over, Quetta were in control, but Amir conceded 18 runs in one over, shifting momentum to Lahore.
Faheem bowled the 19th over, in which Sikandar Raza struck a six and a four, strengthening Lahore’s grip on the match.
Kusal Perera remained unbeaten on 62, while Sikandar Raza played a match-winning cameo of 22 off 7 balls. Amir, Faheem, Abrar, and Usama took a wicket each for Quetta.
