SHARJAH – Pakistan defeated the UAE by 31 runs in the fifth match of the tri-nation T20 series.
In the match played in Sharjah, the UAE team, chasing a target of 172 runs, managed to score 140 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
For UAE, Alishan Sharafu was the standout performer, scoring 68 runs. Captain Muhammad Waseem scored 19, Haider Ali 12, Ethan D’Souza 9, Asif Khan 7, Harshit Kaushik 3, and Rahul Chopra was dismissed for a duck. Dhruv Parashar remained unbeaten with 18 runs.
From Pakistan’s bowling attack, Abrar Ahmed took 4 wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pakistan posted 171 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted overs.
Fakhar Zaman was the top scorer for Pakistan with an unbeaten 77 runs. Mohammad Nawaz also remained not out, contributing 37 runs.
Sahibzada Farhan scored 16, Mohammad Haris 14, Saim Ayub 11, Captain Salman Agha 7, and Hasan Nawaz 4 runs before being dismissed.
For UAE, Haider Ali took 2 wickets, while Muhammad Rohid, Dhruv Parashar, and Junaid Siddique picked up one wicket each.
