Asif hints at Altaf s arrest if allegations found true

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Wednesday said the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain could be arrested if the allegation hurled by Saulat Mirza are proven true during the investigation.

Asid, during an interview to private news channel, stated if two of the prime ministers of Pakistan- Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif- could be arrested then there was no reason for not arresting Altaf. An in-depth investigation is under way over the allegation of MQM activist, he added.

The minister also criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Head Imran Khan for his continuous anti-government stance. Khan’s biggest failure was not becoming the prime minister as a result of general elections 2013, he said.

Earlier the execution of Saulat Mirza was halted by the government after his video statement appeared at media which showed him alleging the MQM chief for ordering murders in Karachi.
