RAWALPINDI – Security forces killed over a dozen Indian-sponsored Terrorists in major KP Operations as the crackdown continues under Azm-e-Istehkam, the Army’s media wing ISPR said Wednesday.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Security forces eliminated 13 India-backed terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operations were conducted after intelligence reports confirmed the presence of militants in the Bara area of Khyber District and Bannu District.
During operation in Bara, security forces surrounded a militant hideout and engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle. After an intense exchange of fire, 10 militants were killed on the spot.
In another intelligence-based operation in Bannu, security personnel successfully neutralised three more terrorists, taking the total number of militants killed in the two operations to 13.
The military said sanitisation operations are ongoing in the areas to ensure that no remaining militants linked to foreign sponsors are hiding nearby.
Army said counter-terrorism drive under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue with full determination to eliminate the threat of foreign-backed terrorism from the country.
Pakistan witnessed sharp rise in cross-border terrorist incidents since the Afghan Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021. Many of these attacks have targeted areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, both of which share long and porous borders with Afghanistan.
In response to growing security threats, Pakistan launched “Operation Ghazab lil-Haq”, a large-scale counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling militant networks.
According to officials, the operation has so far resulted in the killing of around 684 Afghan Taliban operatives and affiliated militants.
