KARACHI – Hyderabad Kingsmen secured a place in the playoffs of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 after a dominant 108-run victory over Rawalpindiz.
In the 39th match of the tournament, played at the National Bank Stadium, Rawalpindiz were bowled out for 136 runs in the 18th over while chasing a massive target of 245.
Usman Khawaja top-scored for Rawalpindiz with an unbeaten 66 runs. Captain Mohammad Rizwan made 26, Sam Billings scored 23, Dian Forrester 6, Saad Masood 5, Amad Butt 3, Asif Afridi 3, and Shahzaib Khan 1. Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Amir, and Ben Sears were dismissed without scoring.
For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Hunain Shah took 4 wickets while Akif Javed claimed 3 wickets. Mohammad Ali and Glenn Maxwell picked up one wicket each.
Earlier, after being put in to bat, Hyderabad Kingsmen posted a strong total of 244 for 6 in 20 overs.
Glenn Maxwell led the batting with a brilliant 70 runs, followed by Usman Khan with 54. Kusal Perera and Hassan Khan remained unbeaten with 50 and 16 runs respectively.
Other contributions came from Maaz Sadaqat (28) and Saim Ayub (12), while captain Marnus Labuschagne scored 5 and Irfan Khan was dismissed for a duck.
For Rawalpindiz, Saad Masood took 2 wickets, while Amad Butt, Ben Sears, and Asif Afridi claimed one wicket each.
