Sindh: Couple mysteriously found dead in garage; police recover man kidnapped by woman

SUKKUR/HYDERABAD (Web Desk) – The police have recovered a cloth merchant, who was kidnapped in Khanpur on June 6 during a Wednesday morning raid in the katcha area near Mehmoodabad.

According to Police officials, Saleem Kamboh, a cloth dealer of Lakha Road in Naushahro Feroze, visited Sukkur on along with his family for shopping. Saleem sent his family back to Lakha Road and stayed in the city to attend a meeting. He then went to meet a woman who was in contact with him via phone. However, he was instead taken hostage.

Saleem’s kidnappers then demanded Rs. 50 million as ransom from his family and threatened to kill him if the family did not comply. Police finally raided the house in Mehmoodabad where Saleem was being kept hostage and recovered him. The kidnappers, however, managed to flee the scene.

The case of the dead couple found inside a car on June 17  has also taken another twist. The father of deceased woman, Khadim Hussain Qadri, has lodged a murder FIR against unknown suspects. Earlier, Qadri refused the autopsy of his daughter unlike father of the other deceased, Mustafa Raza Shaikh.

Police believe the deaths were caused by carbon monoxide poisoning although some are also of the view that the couple committed suicide.

The deceased were former students of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology and their friends claim that they had planned to tie knot.
