Pakistan vs West Indies 1st T20: Pakistan wins by 9 wickets

DUBAI – Pakistan beat West Indies by nine-wicket after the green shirts restricted the visitors to 115 in the first of three Twenty20 internationals at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai on Friday.

Babar Azam smashed 55 of just 37 balls while Khalid Latif scored 34 of 32 balls as Pakistan finished the match in the 15th over.

West Indies set Pakistan a target of 116 runs in the first of three Twenty20 internationals.

Imad Wasim picked up five wickets for only 14 runs, becoming only the second Pakistani bowler and first spinner to do so.

Pakistan’s skipper Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and decided to field against the West Indies in the first of three Twenty20 internationals in Dubai on Friday.

“Dew will be a factor because of humidity, so we want to chase,” he says. “We’re excited. The morale within the group is high. Our white-ball cricket is getting better, we’ve been playing T20 cricket back home,” skipper added.

The second T20 International will also be played in Dubai on Saturday while the third is in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

The match is scheduled to begin at 8pm local and 9pm (Pakistan Time).

The match will be broadcast on the Ten Sports and PTV Sports.

Sarfraz Ahmed will lead the T20 while Azhar Ali ODI series against West Indies.

The green shirts will face World Champions West Indies in a three-match T20 series starting with back to back fixtures at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on the 23rd and 24th of September while the third T20 will be played on September 27th in Abu Dhabi.
