NELSON – Rain washed away the first day of the three-day cricket match between Pakistan and New Zealand A in Nelson here on Friday.
“Constant rain on Thursday and continuing showers throughout Friday halted the game at Saxton Oval as Pakistan waits at least another day to kick-start their two-test tour of New Zealand”, local media reported.
Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat but due to rain, the play was officially abandoned at 2.45pm without a ball being bowled.
The NZ Met office predicted more rain on Saturday and there is little chance for the game to start on the second day of the three-day match.
The first test is scheduled to start on Thursday at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
