ISLAMABAD – Supreme Court of Pakistan Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday took notice of Capital Development Authority’s negligence in Bani Gala.
The apex court took action on the application forwarded by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan against the authority for its failure to prevent encroachments and massive cutting of trees in the area.
The court issued notice to the authority and sought report within 10 days.
The PTI chief wrote a letter to the apex court in order to draw court’s attention towards plight of the area where “the encroachers, land mafias and anarchic builders who are together turning Bani Gala into a concrete jungle”.
He urged the court to compel the CDA to take action against the miscreants involved in encroachments after massive cutting of trees and constructing unplanned and unregulated plazas.
He added that law enforcers have chosen to “allow encroachers and builder to make a mockery of the law”.
