OKARA – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday inaugurated wheat harvesting campaign at Shergarh area of Punjab this afternoon and addressed a large gathering on this occasion.
The PM launched the campaign by cutting wheat plants with a traditional sickle. On this occasion, the Prime Minister was briefed about the percentage of wheat produced by Punjab and facilities being provided to the farmers.
He was informed that Punjab is the largest producer of wheat, accounting for seventy-six per cent of the wheat produced by the country. The Punjab government has fixed wheat production target over nineteen million tons for this year.
The Prime Minister will also lay foundation stone of a six hundred million rupees gas supply scheme to some areas of NA-144 and a six hundred and thirty million rupees overhead bridge in Okara city.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan is advancing towards development and prosperity as roads and motorways are being set up in the country, various developmental projects are underway and very near to their completion stage.
Addressing the elders in Shergarh, he said the people of Pakistan are witnessing developmental work of the incumbent government.
He said PML-N is pursuing the agenda of serving people and the government will continue its work without caring about anti-development elements, who are trying to halt the process of country’s development.
The Prime Minister said that government is providing cheap and uninterrupted electricity to the industrial sectors of the country.
