LAHORE – Pakistan’s opening batsman Azhar Ali has cancelled a celebratory event in Lahore, following the oil tanker inferno that killed at least 149 people on Sunday.
The star batsman was due Sunday night at an event organised by Valencia Town in his honour after the Green Shirts won Champions Trophy in a stunning victory against arch-rival India last week.
However, due to the tragic loss of scores of lives in the massive blaze in Ahmedpur East area of Bahwalpur district, the cricketer postponed the event.
