World XI T20 series: Pakistan unveils Independence Cup trophy in Lahore

LAHORE – The newly designed trophy for the upcoming Independence Cup was unveiled here on Monday.

The first match of the three T20 matches series will be played between Pakistan and World XI on Tuesday at Gaddafi Stadium at 7:00pm on Pakistan Time.

Sarfraz Ahmed, the Pakistani skipper, while speaking to the media after the trophy unveiling ceremony, said they were prepared for the matches. “Our responsibility has increased after winning the Champions Trophy.”

However, he expressed excitement over played the tournaments, saying the teams of World XI are good.

When asked who his favourite player was, Sarfraz said just like many others he too liked South African player Hashim Amla.

The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) World XI players arrived at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport amid tight security.
