WASHINGTON – The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has released a trove of almost 470,000 files obtained in the 2011 raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, showing what the Al-Qaeda leader has in his compound at the time of operation.
President Trump’s CIA Director Mike Pompeo authorized the release of classified files on Wednesday, explaining that it provides, ‘the opportunity for the American people to gain further insights into the plans and workings of this terrorist organization,’.
The trove consists of Hollywood films including 2008 Morgan Spurlock documentary, ‘Where in the World is Osama bin Laden?’ and a copy of the Chinese animated film, Storm Rider Clash of the Evils.
Moreover, animated games like Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil, a number of kids’ films including Antz, Batman Gotham Knight, Cars, Chicken Little, Marvel’s Heroes of Tomorrow, Home on the Range, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and The Three Musketeers were also seized during the raid that led to the killing of Al-Qaeda chief in 2011.
Surprisingly, the commander, though having a stiff outlook had kept multiple Tom & Jerry cartoons on his hard drives and also downloaded the viral video, ‘Charlie bit my finger.’

OBL had a number of films about other places, including Peru Civilization, The Kremlin from Inside and The Story of India.
Moreover, he had a collection of National Geographic films too, along with a copy of the BBC’s Great Wildlife Moments.
The commander who enjoyed the support of Afghan militants had the Biography channel’s film about himself along with ‘CNN Presents: World’s Most Wanted and Loose Change, the latter was a series of films regarding the 9/11 attacks’
The latter film debuted in 2006 and featured the world’s top three most-wanted terrorists: Bin Laden, his successor Ayman al-Zawahiri, and al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqaw. Not only that, ‘In the Footsteps of bin Laden,’ was also among the trove.
Interestingly, famous song of Indian playback legend Muhamamd Rafi ‘Agar be wafa’ and another ‘aaja zindagi mein tere naam likh du’ were also saved in Mp4 format on the hard drive along with an jpg file named assss.
The collection also includes some of the terrorist’s personal effects, include video footage of his son Hamza bin Laden’s wedding.

In recent years, Al Qaeda has released audio messages from Hamza bin Laden and a photo of him as a boy but the footage de-classified by the CIA shows a clear image of Laden’s heir.
The package of massive files the intelligence agency released this week is the fourth tranche of materials to be made public by the government since May 2015.
Another important belonging is a notebook, bearing a sticker ‘Idris Book Bank Rawalpindi’ in which Bin laden had revealed his thoughts.
According to US spy agency, the materials show Al Qaeda’s preparations for the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks and efforts to exploit the Arab Spring uprisings.
Though the CIA confirmed that a stack of porn was found from the possession of OBL, but it did not release the details regarding the adult content.
Bin Laden was killed after a near 10-year search during a late-night US Navy SEAL raid on a compound in Abbottabad, near Pakistani capital Islamabad, on May 2, 2011.
