Charles Manson mastermind killer and cult leader dies at 83

LOS ANGELES – Charles Manson, the psychopath who masterminded the savage killing spree in the United States in 1969, has died at the age of 83 on Sunday, according to California prison officials.

According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Manson “died of natural causes at 8:13 pm (0213 GMT Monday) on Sunday” at a hospital in Kern County.

TMZ was first to report the death of Manson. According to celebrity website, Debra Tate – sister of Sharon Tate, the most famous victim of Manson, told TMZ that she received a call from prison officials notifying her of Manson’s death.

Charles Manson, the hippie cult leaders who became the hypnotic-eyed face of evil across the United States, after he orchestrated the murders of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and six others in Los Angeles during summer of 1969. The objective of these gruesome murders was for African Americans to be blamed, thus sparking an impending and apocalyptic race war.

Charles Manson formed a cult, which included runaways and outcasts, and named it as Manson family. Manson controlled them with a mix of his charismatic yet calculating personality and hallucinogenic drugs.

The family committed at least nine murders, including the murder of 26-year-old movie actress Sharon Tate – the heavily-pregnant wife of director Roman Polanski and murder of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca. The mom-to-be pleaded for the life of her unborn child before she was stabbed to death.

Manson was not present at the time of the murders, but ordered the killings.

One of his followers, Susan Atkins, carried out the mother-to-be’s murder, after which she tasted the actress´s blood and wrote “PIG” with it on the home´s front door.

Manson’s day till the date is synonymous with unspeakable violence and madness. He was a failed musician who was obsessed with Armageddon and race war. Despite being a mass murderer and his infamous reputation he somehow attracted a lot of fans behind the bars and in 2014, nearly married a woman of age 24.

Manson, born Charles Milles Maddox, was born in Ohio in 1934. He was born to an alcoholic 16-year-old prostitute who later married a man named William Manson. It was from his stepdad that he took his notorious last name. During his childhood, Manson showed no interest in attending school and spent most of his early years committing crimes.
