SEOUL – South Korean electronics manufacturer LG will be showcasing its next generation of 8K OLED displays at the world’s largest Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2018 in Las Vegas. This display is going to be the largest and the highest resolution in OLED panel until now.
LG has developed an 88-inch OLED TV screen that can squeeze a whopping 7680 × 4320 pixels onto the display.
Which puts it miles ahead of current high definition TVs which boast a mere 1920 x 1080. Even a standard 4K set-tops out at 3840 x 2160.
“The successful development of the world’s first 8K OLED display is a milestone for the 8K era and underscores the exciting potential of OLED,” said Byung Kang, executive vice president and chief technology officer at LG Display.
