Diya Ali, Lahore based model set to compete at Miss Eco International 2018

LAHORE: Lahore based model Diya Ali has recently been selected by Touchgate Global, a Canadian production company, to represent Pakistan at the Miss Eco International 2018 contest on April 10, 2018.

Held in Egypt each year, the contest was launched by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism along with the United Nations and its aim is to bring ambassadors from all over the world together in order for countries to work harder towards a more sustainable earth.

Diya, who has already represented Pakistan in the Miss Mister World International 2017 in Kosovo is ready to compete alongside 80 other contestants. Speaking with The Express Tribune, Diya shared her journey into pageantry and hopes of representing her country.

In an exclusive interview with The Express Tribune, the aspiring model said,“I am really happy to have been chosen for such an amazing opportunity for the third time. I am lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to represent Pakistan internationally, on such a huge platform.”

She further said, “I am putting in my best efforts to make this win happen. After all, Miss Eco International is one of the most relevant and prestigious pageants in the world.”

“I am so excited to be contending against 80 girls from all around the world. We will be attending different sessions which will be such a great experience. I am looking forward to learning about all the different cultures as well.”

She also spoke of how important events like these were and how she was training for it:

“Such contests, especially Miss Eco International, focuses on the wellness of the mind, body and spirit of all the candidates that represent their respective countries. So, I have been focusing on my training, alongside studying about the environment, so I can give suggestions for the beautification of this planet during the sessions.”
