French judge issues arrest warrant for Saudi crown prince s sister

PARIS – A French judge has issued an arrest warrant for the sister of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for allegedly ordering her bodyguard to assault a plumber at her apartment in Paris, reported international media.

The warrant which names Princess Hassa bint Salman, daughter of Saudi Kin Salman, using a French spelling of her name, Hussat ben Salmane, was out in late December, a source said, confirming a report by Le Point magazine.

The princess had allegedly ordered her guard to beat up the worker, hired for renovation work at her apartment in September 2016, located on Avenue Foch in Paris.

The alleged victim claimed that he took a picture of the room where refurbishment was to make on which the princes went angry and accused him of making photographs to sell them to media.

He alleged that the guard punched him in the face after the princes ordered him. He went on to say that he was forced to kiss the feet of the princes for this mistake.

AFP reported at the time of the incident that his injuries were so severe that he was ordered off work for eight days.

The bodyguard was charged on October 1, 2016, with armed violence, theft, issuing death threats and holding someone against their will.
