Sushma falters on India’s involvement in terrorism, aggression against innocent Kashmiris

UNITED NATIONS – Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Saturday again fell short in her attempt to cover her country’s gross human rights violations against the innocent Kashmiris in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK), continuous Line of Control violations and India’s role in fomenting the terrorist activities inside Pakistan, leading to significant arrest of Indian serving navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav.

In her address at the 73rd session of UN General Assembly, Shushma vainly blamed Pakistan for all ills and even could not justify India’s abrupt backtracking from peace talks with Pakistan.

Foreign ministers of India and Pakistan were scheduled to meet on the sidelines of UNGA, but New Delhi had announced the cancellation of the meeting without any solid reason.

During her speech, Shushma stressed upon collective efforts by the UN members countries to tackle the issues like climate change and terrorism which she termed as the biggest challenges of the 21st century.

She said the under-developed and developing nations were the worst victim of climate change.
“They have neither the capacity nor the resources to meet this crisis. Those, who have exploited nature for their immediate needs, cannot abdicate their responsibilities,” she added.

The Indian minister urged upon the developed nations that they must lift the deprived with financial and technical resources. The principle of common and differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities was reiterated in the 2015 Paris Agreement.

She also emphasized upon the need for fundamental reforms at the United Nations, which should not be cosmetic. “If the UN is ineffective, the whole concept of multilateralism will collapse,” she warned.
