Pakistan s Babar Azam reclaims top spot in T20I rankings

DUBAI – Pakistan remains on the top in ICC rankings after 3-0 defeat to Australia in the shorter format of cricket, with Pakistani batsman Babar Azam claiming the top spot in the ICC T20I batting rankings overtaking Australia’s Aaron Finch.

Babar Azam reached No.1 following a successful series against Australia. In the three-match series, Azam scored 68*, 45 and 50. Fakhar Zaman fell to fifth in the rankings.

Shahdab Khan retained the No.2 spot in the T20I bowlers ranking, while Imad Wasim remained tenth. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan was ranked first.

Pakistan remained the top T20I team after a clean sweep of Australia with India second.

Pakistan will next play a three-match T20I series against New Zealand. The first match will be played in Abu Dhabi on October 31 and the next two in Dubai on November 2 and 4.
