Shehbaz Sharif challenges PM Imran to validate NRO allegations

ISLAMABAD – Former chief minister Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif challenged the incumbent prime minister Imran Khan to bolster his claims regarding the reconciliation bid sought from him.

Speaking on the floor of the national assembly on Wednesday, the lawmaker expressed that he would quit politics -once and for all –  if the claims regarding any reconciliation request forwarded by Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz are proven to be true.

‘I curse the NRO,’ Shehbaz said in his traditional tone to a thunderous applause from his party members.

He solemnly affirmed that the leader of the house, Prime Minister Imran Khan, was lying to the nation regarding reconciliation bids adding that NRO was granted to the lawmakers from the treasury benches by the premier himself.

Citing the statement of Imran Khan that he would not grant NRO to anyone, Sharif expressed that the premier should bring forth the eyewitness in the matter.

The younger Sharif highlighted that they have faced cases in the past as well, claiming that coercion and threats would not deter them.

The legislator, who was produced in the Lower House of the Parliament on a production order, took aim at the incumbent regime and expressed that the party Peshawar metro Bus Project was in shambles, comparing it with the projects completed in Punjab.

The former chief minister expressed that though Khawaja Saad Rafique toiled hard for the betterment of railways, he was receiving notices from NAB as well.

Shehbaz Sharif continued that he was approached by the Punjab Entertainment Company for investigation which was formed during the tenure of his predecessor, Pervaiz Elahi.
