PESHAWAR – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman affirmed on Friday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government will have to go home as a repercussion of acquittal of Asia Bibi.
Rejecting the decision of the Supreme Court in the blasphemy case, the politician warned of more violent agitation across the country until the decision is reversed.
Addressing a protest rally in Peshawar on Friday, the JUI-F leader drew an analogy of hanging of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and ouster of Nawaz Sharif with the acquittal of Asia Bibi, saying the decision cannot be accepted as it is against the spirit of Islam.

‘We are a sovereign country, never accepted dictations from foreign countries, but the PTI-led government has capitulated to the EU and US pressure, which we condemn,’ said Fazl.
The JUI-F chief opined that the British and EU parliaments cherished the release of Aasia Bibi – a Christian woman accused of blasphemy – which shows that the decision came from somewhere else.
Predicting that the government would go packing soon, Fazl said the language used by an elected premier confirmed all doubts.
‘Pakistan stands on an Islamic foundation. We will never accept others’ notation. If we do so, our institutions will crumble,’ he added.
The JUI-F central and provincial leadership of the country, including Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, former senator Rahat Hussain, Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai, Shamsur Rehman and others were also present at the press conference.
Earlier in Islamabad, a JUI-F rally led by its leader Abdul Ghaffoor Haideri held protest demonstrations over Aasia’s acquittal in front of the Parliament House and the Supreme Court.
