QUETTA – Four police officials including Super Intendent police Quaid abad were gunned down in Quetta city, here on Thursday.
According to media reports, unknown assailants riding on motorcycles attacked Mubarak Shah’s vehicle near Killi Deeba area, killing his guard on the spot while Shah and two other security guards were critically injured who were shifted to Sindh Hospital Quetta.
Unfortunately, Mubarak Shah and two other policemen succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. DIG Quetta confirmed the death of SP Mubarak Shah.
The security guards martyred in the incident were identified as Muddasir, Muhammad Irfan and Syed Maloom.
Spokesperson government of Balochistan, Anwarul Haq Kakar while talking to Ary News after the shooting, vowed to smash out terrorism from the violence- torn province.
“New splinter groups are emerging in the province which would be taken to task,” he affirmed.
He expressed that it was a challenge for the Balochistan government to break the nexus of enemies targeting the biggest province of Pakistan, in terms of area.
It is relevant to mention that the tragedy happened days after District Police Officer Killa Abdullah, Sajid Mohmand was martyred in a blast in Chaman.
Apart from DPO’s killing, 11 people were left injured in the province vulnerable to militant groups aided by intelligence agencies from neighbouring countries.
