LAHORE (Online) – The Instrument Landing System (ILS) Cat-3 B installed at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, has failed to function on the first day due to foggy weather and flights from Dubai and Sharja had to be diverted to Karachi and Islamabad.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had inaugurated the landing lightening system worth million of rupees a few days back but the planes could not land due to fogs and the new system proved a futile exercise.

A Qatar Airlines flight with 628 passengers on board had reached Lahore from Doha but it could not land due to fog.
Air Blue flight had reached from Sharjah and it continued to hover in the air before it was diverted to Islamabad due to poor visibility.
