Pathankot attack is an attempt to disrupt improving Pak-India ties, says China

BEIJING (News Desk) – While Indian security forces continue clearance operation at Pathankot airbase and Indian media is raising figers at Pakistan for the terrorist attack, the Chinese foreign ministry has termed the attack as an attempt to disrupt improving Pak-India ties.

Addressing a news briefing, the foreign office spokesperson Hua Chunying strongly condemned the terrorist attack and urged both Islamabad and New Delhi to go ahead with dialogue on January 16 despite such incidents. Blaming Pakistan for the attack would not be a fair step after a successful Nawaz-Modi meeting in Lahore, she added.

To a question she said that Pakistan and India are two important countries of the region and they need to work together on issues related to terrorism. They must continue dialogue and cooperation, she maintained.

Meanwhile Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman has also strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Pathankot Airbase in India and expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives.

Qazi Khalilullah, spokesman to foreign ministry, said that Pakistan itself is victim of terrorism and can feel the pain of tragedy faced by the affected families. He said being in the same region, both countries should remain committed to dialogue to cope with the challenge of terrorism.

The Spokesman said Pakistan is in close coordination with India to eliminate terrorism.
