ISLAMABAD – U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
During the meeting on Thursday, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to remain engaged with U.S. and other stakeholders in facilitating peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan.

Khalilzad is on his way to Doha for negotiations with the Taliban. The envoy had said in a tweet that the agreement would be finalized subject to certain conditions.

Zalmay Khalilzad also called on Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad and discussed the ongoing Afghan peace process.
