According to the U.K.’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office, approximately 270,000 British nationals visit Pakistan every year. Pakistan and Britain have strong trade links, with U.K.-Pakistan bilateral trade in 2017 valued at £2.9 billion, or roughly $3.7 billion.
Prince William and Kate Middleton will be visiting Pakistan in August. This is the latest.
“The Government and the people of Pakistan warmly welcome the announcement of the Royal Visit by Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Pakistan this year,” the High Commissioner for Pakistan to the United Kingdom, Mohammad Nafees Zakaria, said.
He continued that the people of Pakistan “still cherish and fondly recall” the visits by the Queen and described the upcoming trip as a “reflection of the importance the United Kingdom attaches to its relations with Pakistan. The two countries enjoy historical links which both sides wish to strengthen further.”
