ISLAMABAD – The hosts at Munir house Islamabad were left surprised and confused on Tuesday after the former premier Nawaz Sharif asked for some sugarcane juice.
According to media reports, the extended family members of Sharif family knew that Nawaz Sharif would only drink the juice if it had been prepared by his personal cook, so they asked the housekeeper to borrow sugarcane extracting machine.
The machine was arranged from a labourer and brought into the Munir house in a Punjab police van.
Mixed with ginger, lemon and black pepper, the ousted prime minister enjoyed the drink with other family members.
Nawaz Sharif is currently facing corruption charges in NAB court and also leading the campaign for next general elections.
He mostly resides in Lahore but travels to Islamabad for case hearings where he stays with Maryam Nawaz’s daughter’s in-laws.
