KABUL – A young man axed his father for sexually assaulting his sister before calling police to arrest him in northern Jawzjan province, officials said on Tuesday.
Police Chief Brig. Gen. Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani told Pajhwok: “The young man last night telephoned me and asked me to dispatch crime branch officials to their home near Ittefaq Mosque because he has killed his father.”
He said the crime branch officials reached the incident site and delivered the body to the hospital and launched an investigation.
Jawzjani refused to share further details into the story, pending their investigation.
The incident comes six months after a teenage boy axed to death his mother and injured two sisters in Jawzjan.
Rape in Afghanistan is the most common crime against women, according to the National Crime Records Bureau.
However officials have stated that the rape problem is being underestimated because a large number of cases are not reported.
