Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, recently hosted a birthday dinner, inviting Australian cricketers Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell, who are currently part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
According to local media reports, the couple organized the dinner at Lupa, one of Bengaluru’s renowned restaurants. Kohli took to his Instagram story to express his appreciation for Chef Manu Chandra, praising the dining experience as one of the best they’ve had.
In a photo shared by du Plessis on his Instagram stories, the group appeared to be enjoying themselves, with the Australian cricketer captioning it as a “Great night spent with good people.”
The image captured Kohli and Anushka in high spirits, marking Anushka’s first public appearance since the birth of their son, Akaay.
Earlier, Kohli had penned a heartfelt birthday message for Anushka on his Instagram, touching the hearts of fans worldwide.
Known for their achievements in their respective fields and their strong bond, the couple often expresses their affection and appreciation for each other.
Currently playing for RCB in the IPL 2024 season, Kohli will return to action on May 4 in a match against the Gujarat Titans. Despite a shaky start to the season, RCB has bounced back with two consecutive victories in their last two matches. However, their chances of reaching the playoffs remain slim.
It’s worth noting that despite boasting legendary figures like Chris Gayle, Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Jacques Kallis, and others, RCB has never clinched the IPL title, despite reaching the final thrice in 2009, 2011, and 2016.
