He gave the media houses a bird's-eye view of internal security situation and briefed them about ongoing Operation Raddul Fasaad and Operation Khyber. He said, "Operation Raddul Fasaad is ongoing while Operation Khyber 4 is in ground clearing phase".
DG ISPR said that despite the emergent threats in Balochistan and Karachi, Bohra community's Ashura commemorations - which saw 21,000 foreigners - and Muharram observations, the situation remained peaceful and credit goes to the entire nation. He further mentioned other small incidents in the country, including the World XI tournament, Miranshah cricket match, and an international hockey match.
"Despite the fact that we have four foreign agencies working against us and are facing both internal and external threats, we have managed to come a long way," said Asif Ghafoor, "Show me a country which was facing such threats in 2008 and 2009 and is still not only is surviving but also thriving. There are no such countries because all countries who faced problems, similar to us, either collapsed or had to have foreign armies take control."
"If a foreign team is ready to play in Miranshah on one phone call, it means that they know what the situation there is", he said, "We have spent 15 years fixing what the world wanted to destroy, now it's time to get results."
Asif Ghafoor said, "We had a long journey but we are moving towards our destiny, which is a peaceful Pakistan".
