Katharine McPhee and David Foster just got engaged despite major age gap, but nobody's trolling them. Why?
LAHORE - American idol runner up Katharine McPhee, 34, has just got engaged with 68-year-old music mogul David Foster. Both of them have been married before to other people. There are lovely wishes coming across their way and people seem to be delighted with the union when the news was announced that the couple is engaged.

However, what leaves us puzzled is the fact that Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are constantly trolled for their age gap. Why is this topic still a taboo when the woman is older? Why is it still 'okay' when it is the man at the older end?

Priyanka and Nick share a gap of ten years but both are consenting adults who are comfortable and blissfully happy in the bounds of one another's companionship.

Let's have a look at various couples who are not connected age wise but are pretty much connected through their minds:

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor share the gap of 10 years

Same is the case with Amal Clooney and George Clooney, a gap of 17 years.

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder share a gap of a decade yet people never pointed out that fact, instead the two remain "couple goals" for many!

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Kapoor share an age difference of twelve years

The double standards are only evident when the genders are switched as we can see from the examples above.

Yes please????

The problem is the sexism that is holding it's grip tight in today's day and age. This sexism does not allow society to accept the fact that a woman can be more successful than her boyfriend/husband, she can date/marry someone from a different culture, she can be way older to him, she can be open about her choices and the list goes on.

We guess live and let live? Way to go PeeCee!
