Mobile Services Restored In Islamabad Rawalpindi Amid Pti Protests

LAHORE – The federal authorities partially resumed cellular phone service and internet on Sunday, after two days of suspension in twin cities in the wake of deteriorating law and order situation in twin cities.

Phone and internet Services were suspended as supporters of Imran Khan rallied in Islamabad to demand his release, facing police resistance, including roadblocks and tear gas.

KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur led protests on the Islamabad-Peshawar highway, while the PTI also organized events in Lahore. Interior Minister reported over 80 police injuries during clashes and cautioned against disrupting upcoming diplomatic meetings. Amnesty International condemned the government’s actions as violations of free expression and assembly rights.

Imran Khan is currently imprisoned on multiple charges, many of which have been suspended. He is barred from participating in the February elections, which the PTI claims were rigged.
