The police spring into action after the girl lodged a First Information Report (FIR) in Margalla Police Station against an official of Capital Development Authority (CDA) for “blackmailing and raping her in broad daylight in a park while two of his accomplices watched”.
According to the victim, she was visiting the Fatima Jinnah Pak, most commonly referred as F-9 Park, in the afternoon of August 2 along with a boy. Soon two men entered the park from its gate number 2, and one of them introduced himself as an employee of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
He approached the couple and asked the girl what she was doing in a park with a boy. The official in order to pressure the couple said he would take them to the police.
The girl says she told the man that she had done nothing wrong and that he can call the police if he wanted to. The official also threatened to summon the parents of the girl to the police station. The boy also paid the CDA officials Rs2,000 in a bid to rescue themselves following which he was told to leave the park.
The girl claimed that after the boy left the place, three CDA officials, one of whom was a guard, took her to a side where one of them sexually assaulted her.
The victim contended that she cried for help but the other two did nothing. Afterward, the official left the girl at a nearby metro station and threatened her to keep mum over the incident.
The victim says it took her a few days to come out of the trauma and finally pursue the case against the culprits.
In her application, the victim said she was highlighting the issue so that no other woman faces the same situation in future and the perpetrators are taken to task.
