LAHORE (Staff Report) – The District Returning Officer (DRO) Ahmad Nawaz on Thursday issued show cause notices to federal ministers Khawaja Saad Rafique and Abid Sher Ali for leading election campaign in NA-122 by-poll.
While talking to reporters, the DRO said that both federal ministers have been questioned over their participation in electioneering for NA-122 by-poll despite the ban imposed by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The ministers cannot take part in election campaigns according to code of conduct of ECP, he said.
He further said the process of printing of ballot papers for the by-poll has been completed in the supervision of Pakistan army and all other arrangements have also been made.
He assured that by-election will be conducted according to ECP rules, transparently and peacefully.
