RAWALPINDI – The commander of the United States Central Command (US CENTCOM), General Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr, called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday.
Gen McKenzie met Pakistan’s military chief with his delegation at the Pakistan Army’s headquarters and discussed the ongoing crisis in Kashmir, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.

The military’s media wing said the US CENTCOM commander and the Pakistan Army Chief discussed ‘geo-strategic environment and regional security including Afghanistan and Kashmir situation’ during their meeting.
The meeting comes amid US President Donald Trump’s announcement to cancel peace talks with Afghanistan Taliban leaders in wake of the recent attack in Kabul that killed an American soldier and eleven other people.
In a tweet, Trump said if the Taliban cannot agree to a cease-fire during these very important peace talks, it means they probably do not have the power to negotiate a meaningful agreement anyway.
