China confirms first Zika virus case

BEIJING (News Desk) – China on Wednesday confirmed its 34-year-old citizen, who recently travelled to South American countries, as first case of Zika virus.

China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission said the man was from Ganxian county in the eastern province of Jiangxi.

The Chinese authorities however insist that virus will not further spread because they have taken extraordinary measures to fight it.

It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that Zika virus was first reported in Brazil. The mosquitoes are considered as primary carries of the virus.
