Drunken PIA steward offloaded just before take-off

ISLAMABAD – A flight steward of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was off-loaded before the flight take off on Thursday.

Ghulam Muhammad Chandio was found highly drunk after the medical team of

Pakistan’s premier airline took blood samples of all the Islamabad-to-Lahore bound flight crew.

PIA staff’ involvement in drug-related issues has brought a bad name to the institution and to the country in the past.

Last year the national flag carrier was ranked the third worst airline in the world, trailing just behind Jordan’s Royal Jordanian Airlines and Iceland’s WOW Air.

PIA, which stood at 70th spot out of 72 international airlines based on their performance in the first quarter of 2018, has the worst on-time performance score, offering only 61% timely services.
