If you want to witness prosperity then visit the country except KP, says Nawaz Sharif

CHICHAWATNI – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday claimed that the PML-N government was launching development projects not only in Punjab but also in Sindh, Balochistan and even Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was addressing a political gathering in Chichawatni district of Punjab.

The premier said that he will present his report card before the public on completion of his term and added, without naming PTI, that his opponents will also have to present their report card after completion of five years — and justify “what they have done in their province [KP] so far”.

He alleged that KP has been ruined in the past few years. “You can witness that the roads and streets in that province are in a deteriorated condition. If you want to witness prosperity then visit the rest of Pakistan,” he maintained.

He claimed that his government has been serving farmers. “The price of urea has been reduced from Rs. 1,800 to Rs. 1,400; DAP from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 2,500; electricity tariff for tube-well from Rs. 18 to Rs. 5.25 per unit.”

The prime minister also announced that he would be connecting Chichawatni with the rest of Punjab through Multan-Lahore motorway. “I am here to serve you. Your fruits and other agricultural products will reach the markets within a few hours,” he said.

He also announced that a power generation plant will be inaugurated in Qadirabad this month. He also reiterated that load shedding will be “gone” in 2018 and that electricity tariff will also be reduced.

He said that the government has been combating terrorism and claimed that they have defeated terrorists. “Nawaz Sharif is also making developments in the province of those who hold sit-in (against him),” the premier said.

Making promises, he announced to provide natural gas in the near future, establish a university campus in the city, upgrade the Chichawatni Technical Institute and the girls’ college in the city.

“Those who resort to mudslinging and verbal abuse are not aware of the culture of decency which is actually reflective of Pakistan,” Nawaz said in a thinly veiled jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Pakistan, he added, has a culture of mutual respect.

We will provide Rs. 500 million for the development of Chichawatni and to link the area directly with the motorway. “Only the incumbent government is working towards building roads in the country.”

The technical and vocational training institutions in Chichawatni will be upgraded while a Masters programme will be initiated in the degree college. “The areas will also be provided with Sui gas,” the PM added.
