Couple heading to perform Umrah held for smuggling at Lahore airport

LAHORE – The Airport Security Force (ASF) arrested a couple on Monday who was attempting to smuggle contraband at the Lahore airport.

The couple caught red-handed was heading to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah.

According to ASF, six kilogrammes of heroin and ice was seized from the couple.

“The drugs were recovered during a search prior to Muhammad Anwar and his wife boarding a foreign airline to travel to Jeddah to perform Umrah,” ASF personnel said.

The couple was taken into custody by security forces.
