Armenia and Azerbaijan held each other responsible for a gunfight that occurred on their shared border on Thursday and left at least three troops injured.
Armenian defence ministry reported on Thursday that Azeri forces had used mortars and artillery to shell the positions of its soldiers in the Gegharkunik border region, inflicting two casualties.
According to the military ministry of Azerbaijan, one soldier was injured earlier when its positions came under fire.
Negotiations between the two nations are underway to reach a settlement that will put an end to the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, an area that is officially regarded as being a part of Azerbaijan but is primarily populated by Armenians and the subject of ongoing hostilities.
